Lesson 1: Cultural Heritage: Main Concepts and Definitions
Changes since 20th Century
In 20th, and especially the 21st centuries the way heritage is perceived and valued has changed. (Judson, 2012) the list of protected monuments expanded to include different types heritage - especially intangible,representative of all community groups and minorities.
The terms like Dark Heritage, Dissonant Heritage, Contested Heritage appeared, that imply that cultural heritage is not always positive, but often embodies negative associations.
The concept of heritage became wider and more encompassing, more global and Inclusive.

Newly recognised types of Cultural heritage includes Industrial Heritage.
